Taxacom: nomen nudum and synonymy question

Hi Doug,
Actually your immediate approach would sound more logical, and I've
never understood why they selected these terms "rank" and "group" for
these meanings. It would make much more sense to talk of three ranks
family, genus and species, and then subdivide in subranks or so. The
term "group" has so many different meanings in taxonomy that it does not
seem to fit really well for this purpose it has in the Code.

The Linz Zoocode Committee uses the term "series" instead of "group", so
also they are not happy with the ICZN terminology in this point.

Best wishes
Francisco
