[Taxacom] Coleoptera Meeting 2021 - Registration for speakers open!

Dear Entomological Community,


We hope that everyone had a great holiday season and that your batteries are recharged for a promising new year!


The year has just begun and the 2021 Coleoptera Meeting [Encontro de Coleoptera] is already knocking on the door, with only a few months to go. We would like to remind you that the event will be held between March 15 and 19, 2021, from 4 pm to 6 pm, Brasília time. The meeting will be completely online and free, and will have a diversified program of lectures, chats and panel discussions with guests and open submissions to researchers from different levels of training (undergraduate and graduate students, PhDs, amateurs) interested in presenting their beetle research.


With this message, we would like to share information about the categories and formats of presentations, as well as the dates of registration for speakers and other pertinent information. The meeting will feature four categories of presentations:


Compact presentation - up to 5 minutes, and additional 2 minutes for questions and answers.

Regular presentation - up to 15 minutes, and additional 5 minutes for questions and answers.

Panel discussion and special lecture - up to 60 minutes (questions and answers included).


With the exception of panel discussions and special lectures, which will be invited by the organizers, the remaining presentations are open for registration! Anyone interested in participating as a speaker is invited to submit a title proposal and an abstract. If selected, presentations must be pre-recorded. Compact and regular presentations can be given in any language and must contain subtitles in English, or in Portuguese in case of presentations in languages other than it. But don't worry: there are programs that assist in subtitling videos in a relatively simple way, and we will provide you with instructions on how to use these software.
