[Taxacom] more science nonsense

Hi Stephen,
In the original post, John said "Apart from the center of origin illusion...". Therefore, just trying to convince him that there was a "center of origin" at all, is probably a waste of time. Anyway, I agree that John's arguments in this thread make little or no sense, so I am not wasting my time responding.
But I do appreciate your input, and I would agree that this new evidence for an origin in the Southern Hemisphere is important and that their suggestion does makes sense.
                      ----------------Ken

"So ye, one's fingerprints on the murder weapon is only evidence that you touched the weapon at some stage recently, and not any kind of evidence that you are the murderer."
No way, John, that is truly nonsense. No offence, but you evidently (no pun intended!) fail to understand the concept of evidence! In the example, the fingerprints on the murder weapon are very very strong evidence that you touched the weapon at some stage recently, AND slightly less strong evidence that you are the murderer. Strength of evidence is a matter of degree. You, however, have explicitly denied that the fingerprints are [quote]any kind of evidence that you are the murderer[unquote]! Of course they are evidence, quite strong evidence at that!

* would "is not incompatible with the hypothesis that..." be less
nonsensical that "suggests..."?
