Dear Colleagues,

Please forward and distribute this communication widely among your colleagues within the herbarium/collections communities.

New United States Virtual Herbarium (USVH) Web site <www.usvirtualherbarium.org>!
The United States Virtual Herbarium (USVH) project members were pleased to announce the public release of their Web site at the USVH Annual Meeting held on August 1, 2010 in Providence, RI in conjunction with the Botanical Society of America Annual Conference. The new USVH Web site can be found online at http://www.usvirtualherbarium.org<http://www.usvirtualherbarium.org/>. It provides the USVH with a public internet presence and conduit for communicating with stakeholders as well as online support for private collaboration and information sharing by project members. For those of you who have herbarium and regional herbarium network Web sites of your own, we are asking you to consider adding a link to your sites that points folks to the USVH Web site.

e.g. (suggestion only)
The [insert your hyperlinked herbarium or regional network name here] [supports / is an active supporter of / participates in] the United States Virtual Herbarium<http://www.usvirtualherbarium.org> (USVH) project (www.usvirtualherbarium.org<http://www.usvirtualherbarium.org>).

Proposed USVH Governance Structure - Invitation to Comment
USVH Task Force 10 was charged with proposing an organizational structure for the USVH project. A summary and detailed outline of this proposal is available for download and online comment until September 30 at: www.usvirtualherbarium.org/?q=governance or click on the link provided on the USVH Home page. Please review the proposed governance structure and post your comments, questions and other feedback on this public discussion page or send your comments to Mary Barkworth (Chair, USVH Task Force 10) at mary.barkworth at usu.edu<mailto:mary.barkworth at usu.edu>.
