The New York Botanical Garden Herbarium has an opening for a Curatorial
Assistant.

The requirements are:
Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) in biology, coursework in taxonomy
preferred.
Familiarity with scientific plant names and other biological information and
with American geography.
Capable of organized work and accurate, efficient computer entry of
botanical and geographical information.
Experience with databases and herbarium methods.
Ability to reach specimens in cabinets at 8ft. high to ground level. 

The duties and responsibilities are:
Entry of information from labels of plant specimens into a computer
database.
Selecting, sorting, refiling database specimens.
Processing plant collections made by staff.
Other herbarium tasks as needed.
