Dear all,
If I understand correctly, it was related to the shutdown that affected the US. When you go to the Genbank website, there is no longer an alert message, so I imagine that the situation is returning to normal.
But it will probably take some time to catch up on the backlog.
Nicolas

Objet: Taxacom: NCBI funding
I have just heard from a colleague that the current US government has
stopped the funding for NCBI (GenBank) so he could not upload sequences
for specimens in a new publication due to be submitted to a journal soon.
Does anyone have any information whether this will be permanent, and
also what will happen to all of the sequence data currently stored there
and used for analysis?
Thanks for any information on this rather worrying situation.
Adam.
