Dear Dr. Nagel (Karlo),

Many thanks for alerting me to the existence of these fine maps online. I
see that maps 31 and 34 show parts of the northeast coast of L. Njassa, and
I agree that "Muanken" or "Muankengap" does not occur on them.

Meanwhile, Andy Mabbett informed me that online he found mention of
"Muanken" in Malawi (to my surprise, as no such name appears in the
extensive US Government Gazetteer of Malawi), in a  2020 book, "Malawian
Migration to Zimbabwe, 1900?1965 - Tracing Machona" by Zo? R. Groves,
Springer International Publishing, ISBN: 9783030541033. It must be an old
name no longer on current maps or charts, which I have. I still don't know
just where the locality is, but evidently somewhere on the Malawi shore
after all.
