No, in this case, the status quo is Pseudocrenilabrinae includes Haplochromini which includes?Pseudocrenilabrus. What Mike wants to do is to conserve?Haplochromini from the earlier but little used?Pseudocrenilabrini. This he can do by reversal of precedence of?Haplochromini and?Pseudocrenilabrini. HOWEVER, that would seem to have the perhaps unintended consequence of making Haplochrominae the valid name for the subfamily!

True, but what is being done here, is precisely what "just" cannot be done.

The subfamily Pseudocrenilabrinae contains some 25 tribes, none of which
is called Pseudocrenilabrini; among these, a tribewhich is being called
'Haplochromini' *does* include the type genus of Pseudocrenilabrinae.

E.g., see https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FPseudocrenilabrinae&data%7C02%7Ctaxacom%40lists.ku.edu%7C1f995996b1d245b37a0c08dc8928e513%7C3c176536afe643f5b96636feabbe3c1a%7C0%7C0%7C638536055944211617%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=%2B%2BSeRbg6Q0dw06W9nIFBx%2FGnyPCCF6fuUNonjoXllOQ%3D&reserved=0

Just to be certain that we are clear on this, note that if family group name A is given precedence over family group name B, B can still be used as the valid name for a subgroup of A which does not include the type genus of A. So, family A-idae can contain two subfamilies, A-inae and B-inae. It is just that B-inae cannot include the type genus of A.
