The etymology in this case is, as you properly indicate, based on a
Greek prefix (traditionally transliterated as "hyle" or possibly "hule")
and a French diminutive suffix. My point was that, under the ICZN, the
applicable Article is 30.2.4.

A "hybrid" composed of Greek and French does not fall under Article 30.1
at all, and as it is not *entirely* French, does not fall under 30.2.1,
despite having a French suffix:

"30.2.1. If a name */reproduces exactly/* a noun having a gender in a
modern European language...it takes the gender of that noun." (emphasis
mine)

"Uleiota" is not *exactly* a French noun.

Without included species or statement of gender, treatment under the
Code devolves to Art. 30.2.4:

"30.2.4. If no gender was specified or indicated, the name is to be
treated as masculine, except that, if the name ends in -a the gender is
feminine, and if it ends in -um, -on, or -u the gender is neuter."

Peace,
