I have been working on these fungi for a few years and indeed Beauveria bassiana is the currently accepted name for this taxon:
https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fbiotanz.landcareresearch.co.nz%2Fscientific-names%2F1cb17f32-36b9-11d5-9548-00d0592d548c&data%7C01%7Ctaxacom%40lists.ku.edu%7Ce40db9a2bc2c430c7e4808dbf1738881%7C3c176536afe643f5b96636feabbe3c1a%7C0%7C0%7C638369250757398492%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=en60NKgKmlvENYC4Q92k3is55sM2eoDhTpB5%2FQtMpB0%3D&reserved=0
The generic concepts of these fungi are fairly well resolved now, the genus Cordyceps is phylogenetically distinct from Beauveria.
Field samples from New Zealand are difficult to identify to species though (without sequencing), what you might think is Beauveria bassiana, could easily be P. pseudobassiana or B. malawiensis there is no close association with host insect.

That page states:
Relation to Cordyceps and other fungi
Beauveria bassiana is the anamorph (asexually reproducing form) of Cordyceps bassiana. The latter teleomorph (the sexually reproducing form) has been collected only in eastern Asia.
Regardless of that fact, according to Species Fungorum, Beauveria bassiana is the currently correct name (I am not sure how the anamorph/teleomorph stuff works, perhaps others will know...)
