Taxacom: Renaming taxa on ethical grounds -- Hoser and the Russian papers

Just to set the record straight: the Reptile Database has not "erased over 1000 names ? proposed by Russians? (I doubt Russians have proposed that many names in the first place). However, it is correct that we did remove about 1000 papers by Russian authors for about 2 weeks in March 2022, in protest of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This was meant to be a reminder that we all share some responsibility for the actions of our governments. Maybe the temporary  (!) removal wasn?t a good decision, but certainly not as bad as the decision to invade a country and kill tens of thousands of people (on both sides of the war, of course).
