*Museum of New Zealand's journal moves to Pensoft*

The Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa?s open-access research journal,
*Tuhinga*, has had a refresh, moving to Pensoft?s ARPHA Publishing
Platform.

Going forward the peer-reviewed academic journal will be available to
national and international audiences on a new user-friendly and
discoverable website that?s mobile friendly. You can find Tuhinga at
https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Ftuhinga.arphahub.com%2F&data%7C01%7CTaxacom%40lists.ku.edu%7C2f0803d0a6934b90142b08da0211f620%7C3c176536afe643f5b96636feabbe3c1a%7C0%7C0%7C637824574108607561%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=ypV13yJx1ivS1eMPAezOTVq2pRqP9ZI9Rwhq26%2BNpzY%3D&reserved=0

?*It?s a great **honour** to sign with the Museum of New Zealand **Te** Papa
Tongarewa and provide our publishing services to **Tuhinga**. Particularly,
we take pride in letting the whole wide world straight into the holdings
of **Te** Papa and the knowledge they have prompted in the distant past:
something that would not typically be possible had they remained only on
paper*.?

Prof. Dr Lyubomir Penev, founder and CEO at ARPHA and Pensoft

Each submitted manuscript will now be carried through the peer-review,
editing, publication, dissemination and archiving stages without leaving
the platform?s collaboration-centred online environment.

The journal is also expanding to extend its scope beyond Te Papa?s
collections and areas of expertise to include all aspects of museum
research, with a focus on Aotearoa New Zealand and the Pacific.

Having opted for a Diamond Open Access policy, the journal has no charges
for its readers or authors and each article is openly reusable under a
Creative Commons attribution copyright licence (

).

The articles will be openly available in PDF and machine-readable XML
formats, and semantically enriched HTML for better reader experience.

We have just started receiving the first manuscripts, so the articles will
soon start popping up on our new website. We are also working on clearing
the rights to bring all past issues of Tuhinga to the new platform and to
Diamond Open Access status.

?*I?m delighted with this update to **Tuhinga**. The change in platform and
copyright licensing for **Tuhinga** brings **Te** Papa?s peer-reviewed
journal into the digital ecosystem of scholarly publishing. It makes
**Te** Papa?s
academic writing and research better disseminated through scholarly content
aggregators, more findable in libraries, and easily consumed and reused by
scholarly communities and the public.*?

Victoria Leachman, Head of Collection Access, Te Papa

Tuhinga is the successor of a long line of journals dating back to the
early days of New Zealand?s Colonial Museum. Together, these journals have
acquired over 150 years? worth of academic knowledge provided by the
museum?s curators, collection managers, and research associates, as well as
external contributors, across disciplines, from Archeology to Zoology.

With this renewal and the new platform, we hope Tuhinga will be ready for
the next 150 years.
