Please distribute widely to potential applicants.
The Essig Museum of Entomology, in collaboration with several institutions
across California, is engaged in a two-year project to generate a DNA
barcode sequences for every insect species in California focusing on
identified specimens in our collection that range in age from a few years
to over 70 years old. We plan to take this opportunity to capture much more
phylogenetically informative sequence data using, genome skimming, UCE's,
or other next generation techniques.
We will soon advertise a museum technician position for this project as
well.
Feel free to contact me for more information.
