Hi Jose,

A quick GBIF search, using the Advanced Search feature with
Basis of Record  = Preserved Specimen (so somehow captured)
Elevation between 4545 and 9999 meters

Results in 101,777 records (some are Phylum = Arthropoda, Class = Insecta)

Limit to Arthropoda = 23,451 records
Limit to Insecta = 23,006

Hope that helps :-) Under Insecta, I see Hymenoptera, Coleoptera, Leps,
Orthoptera, Odonata, Hemiptera, Diptera, Tricoptera, Plecoptera,
Siphonaptera, Ephemeroptera, Neuroptera, Megaloptera, Blattodea,
Psocodea, Mantodea, Archaeognatha, Rahidioptera, Mecoptera, and Dermaptera

Of course, you asked how they were acquired. I did not delve farther. I
leave that to you. Happy sleuthing,
Debbie

Have any entomological collections ever made at altitudes higher than 4,500 m (~14,500 feet)? I am not asking for observations of something seen flying (which I know there are quite a few observations of bumble bees and I believe even one Lepidoptera that were seen flying at really high altitudes in the Himalaya) but rather more "solid" collecting such as traps, or netting...
