Hi Lyubo,
Thanks for the information about the OAI-PMH feed, I will take a look. I’ve had mixed success with OAI-PMH from other sources in the past as the quality of the metadata can be rather variable. But it sounds like Pensoft’s is rich and detailed.
Regards,
Rod

Dear Rod,
Congratulations with your new service which seems rather promising, especially if it manages to cover a large number of publishers of taxonomic journals!
Regarding Pensoft and some points raised by others in this tread, I think that you can use also OAI-PMH, besides RSS, to harvest all content from one-stop web service end point (see ours at: https://arphahub.com/about/OAI-PMH). Through OAI-PMH you can also select Pensoft's ca. 20+ journals that publish taxonomic records (not just ZooKeys or PhytoKes). The high-level taxa associated to each article can be taken from the <subj-group> in each article XML. RSS are fine and great, however they cover only the last 100 newly published items and not always give straightforward access to the full-text article XML. In other words, you have to rely mostly on metadata in this case.
In addition, Pensoft provides human-readable email alerts (daily, weekly or monthly, on choice of the user) from user-selected journals, taxa or subject categories. When selecting a taxon or taxa from "Taxon categories" tab in user's personal profile alert setup, the system will inform you about all new articles in all selected journals, published in relation to that taxon or taxa.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Lyubo

I guess the incentives aren't there because taxonomists and/or

have not identified it as a high priority. Perhaps those who influence
funding priorities don't care about the information we have buried in the
literature, especially taxonomic information. Everything is so often
obsessed about the 'new'
Some Chinese journals that have turned up with my group are:
Acta Entomolgica Sinica
Sinozoologia
Zoological Research
Entotaxonomia
Journal of Qinghai University
Entomological Journal of East China (Fuzhou)
Journal of Huazhong Agricultural University (Wuhan)
