[Taxacom] Hypodematiaceae

Again, my appreciation for the Hypodematiaceae article. I had not expected
very much in the way of quality biogeography (and not disappointed in
that), but their distribution map that I had seen online looked pretty
classic. But their usual plug and play cartoon biogeography just generates
the usual nonsense. I was interested to see that the Madagascar species was
basal to a series of groups (if I have read that right), first one that is
Cape Verde-Arabia (classic break)-Nepal-China, then the rest in eastern
Asia. The most basal lineage (basal to the Madagascar-Asia group) is
China/Korea/Japan, and not surprisingly BioGeoBears leads them to postulate
that the ancestors of the extant members of theCV-Arabia-Nepal-China clade
and the Madagascar clade 'arrived' from Asia (presumably the next lineages
of the clade then hopped back to Asia again and yet could not make it to
Africa. All complete nonsense of course. Anyway, the phylogeny plus actual
distributions (which are meaningless to these authors, only imaginary
areas are treated as 'real') might be useful in the future.

Cheers, John
