Perhaps the most basic problem with the PhyloCode, like most proposals to
significantly change the system of nomenclature, is that it tends to lose
sight of the basic point that it is nomenclature - a way of assigning names
to things for convenience of reference.  Trying to also make the names tell
the phylogeny (or do anything else) tends to add complications.
Phylogenies can be shown well by a tree diagram, but not so well by a list
of names.
