Dear taxacomers,

I have a particular question concerning description of a new Recent Marsupial speces-genus-family-order from Australia ( https://www.researchgate.net/publication/335909047_A_Description_of_a_New_Endemic_Carnivorous_Marsupialia_in_Myrtoideae_Forests_of_Australia_A_Taxonomic_Misadventure_with_Phototypes ). It looks like a pure fake, the phototype reported seems to have been prepared with Photoshop, the formal description is ignorant is some important points (the name of a new familty is given as Pseudophascolarctos), its author is reported as a malacologist ( https://species.wikimedia.org/wiki/Stephen_J._Maxwell ). No subsequent discussion of this case seemed to happen.

I’d be much greatful for any information clarifying this case.

Thank you,

Igor
