[Taxacom] 200,000 deaths from genus Norovirus

Hi All,
Another virus (genus Norovirus) causes a staggering 685 million illnesses and 200,000 deaths each year worldwide, and it is considered to be quite contagious. And updated numbers for flu viruses now report that they kill 291,000 to 646,000 people each year (also hundreds of millions cases worldwide). So why is there not hysteria and large quarantines for them?
Is there any indication whatsoever that the new coronavirus is going to kill 200,000 people this year? SARS killed about 800 and MERS has killed about 860 people in 27 countries. The new coronavirus will likely cause well over a thousand deaths, but that would probably be the result of the outbreak happening in the middle of a very large city.
As for death rates, new estimates are that over 75,000 have been infected in Wuhan with the new coronavirus, and the death rate is thus less than 1%. "The respective mortality rates for SARS and MERS patients was 9.5 and 34.5 percent, far higher than for the new coronavirus."
