[Taxacom] TV report of Eagle caught in Ethiopia during an attempted attack on a child

In this video, this raptor is captured. This official in the Afdheer district of the Ethiopian Somali region mentions that it is captured during an attempted attack on a child. https://www.facebook.com/AfmeerMedia/videos/389429615079837/.

One of the concerns of the colleagues who initiated the inquiry* is that local people may target all raptors. There is a checklist for the birds of Somaliland derived from Ash and Miskell, Birds of Somalia under Flora Projects (an oops to be corrected one day) on https://openzoomuseum.org/. Lots of ACCIPITRIDAE.

If anyone is interested in helping SBF develop knowledge of birds (or any other organisms) in Somaliland, please contact me (mary.barkworth [at] usu.edu). Warning, the Foundation is tiny. It cannot provide financial support. Its goal is to help build Somaliland's capabilities for documenting and conserving its biodiversity. Because I am a botanist, the focus so far has been on plants. Newsletters can be found under the news tab at http://www.somalilandbiodiversity.org. And yes, donations are welcome.

Hi Laurent,
But would an African Hawk Eagle be large enough to badly injure (much less kill) a human child? Also, there is another photograph showing a dorsal view of the eagle, and the person appears to be holding it by its "crown" (see weblink below). Would an African Hawk Eagle have anything like that on its head?

Something on September 24, 2019 at 02:44 PM EAT by barkworth. Assistance requested; locals think it is not native. Reports of eagles attacking people, particularly children lead to interest.

This rather looks like a young African Hawk Eagle, Aquila spilogaster, to me.
(The pics are not really ideal (too close) to appreciate the general structure of the bird. In any case, the pattern of the flight feathers (tight, thin, weakly contrasting barring) does not match African Crowned
Eagle.)
