[Taxacom] Jurassic eyespots on lacewings

Hi All, Fascinating article on the eyespots of Mesozoic lacewings that are somewhat convergent to those in Cenozoic butterflies. Maybe it is just my imagination, but their eyespots look more like the eyes of some lizards or salamanders, whereas the eyespots of modern butterflies often tend to look more like bird eyes. That would make sense since there would have probably been fewer birds hunting lacewings or butterflies back in the Jurassic.
