[Taxacom] taxonomic names databases

A problem that I have with many of the databases that I have used is that they ignore (or do not reveal) the authors of names above the rank of species. I find that Wikipedia is often the most useful resource in this regard. For Panthera, even Wikipedia let me down. From the comment that the genus was “was named and first described by the German naturalist Oken<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorenz_Oken> in 1816” and the fact that the citation for the type species, Panthera pardus, is Linnaeus 1758 I think that the author of Panthera should be given as (Linnaeus 1758) but I wish CoL routinely provided such information. I like CoL, but the absence of author citations for higher ranks, IMO, lowers its value.

And yes, if someone would either correct my citation or confirm it, I would be grateful.
