His colleagues worldwide will be saddened by the news that Bryan Kenneth
Simon passed away this past week in Brisbane, Australia, after a short
battle with leukemia.



Bryan was a well known grass taxonomist at the Queensland Herbarium for
nearly four decades, who prevously spent nine years as botanist in
Bulawayo, Zimbabwe (then Rhodesia).



He leaves behind a wonderful family, including his wife, 5 children, and
several grandchildren.


Bryan was a wonderful and supportive colleague and an ambassador of good
will among the agrostological community.



All who knew Bryan will miss him.
