Subject: [Taxacom] Trying to recover type specimens from China, help
Dear all,
Does anyone have contact with the Chengdu Institute of Biology, P.O. Box 416, Chengdu, Sichuan 610041 (CDBI) in China?
Almost 20 years ago, PH had sent a loan of 19 types of Vitis for study of Dr. Li Chao-Luan, who at that time was a researcher at CDBI. Thanks to contacts from the Herbaria list, I learned that Dr. Chao-Luan was deceased. The information about the director of CDBI I have obtained through members the Herbaria List and from the Index Herbariorum, is the
following:
Director: Dr. Xin-Fen Gao
Emails: xfgao at mail.sc.cninfo.net<mailto:xfgao at mail.sc.cninfo.net>, xfgao at cib.ac.cn<mailto:xfgao at cib.ac.cn>
I have sent repeated letters/emails requesting the return of the loan to Dr. Xin-Fen Gao, but I have not received any response. Although there are several researchers listed in the Index Herbariorum, all of them have the emails addresses of Dr. Xin-Fen Gao.
Does anyone perhaps have direct contact with Dr. Xin-Fen Gao, or with the current director for CDBI?
Since I have not received any answer, I am hesitant now of sending any specimens to China.
Many thanks and I hope you would be able to help us!
Best,
Alina.
