Dear colleagues,
for a lecture on nomenclature I look for a taxon - genus or species - that
can be treated under the Botanical as well as under the Zoological Code of
Nomenclature and has different names under either regime, be it the genus
name, the specific epithet, or both.
There are countless examples of "ambiregnal synonyms" above the family
level, but these names are not subject of the ICZN. Neither "on the
internet" nor in any of the textbooks at hand could I find an example of
such a "synonymy" on the genus or species level. Seemingly, there are only
few on the family-level. One example could be Noctilucaceae - Noctilucidae,
but the difference pertains only to the ending, which is not just what I am
searching for.
To avoid misunderstandings, I add that I am not looking for "ambiregnal
homonyms" (of which many can be found in several sources, e.g.
http://www.curioustaxonomy.net/rules.html), like Aa Baker, 1940 (a mollusk)
and Aa Reichenbach, 1854 (an orchid).
Any hint is welcome.
Best regards
Michael
