[Taxacom] Addressing common (?) conceptions about taxonomic concepts

Dear Taxacomers:

   I recently came across GBIF's "Guidelines for zoological names" (
http://www.gbif.org/resources/2371) which contain a section on taxonomic
concepts that seemed worth commenting on. And mutually respectful comments
are also welcome here or at the end of the post.
