[Peter Hovenkamp]

Dear Taxacomers,

We regret to announce that on August 31, 2012, Professor Cornelis
Christiaan (Cees) Berg passed away. He was a former staff member of the
Herbarium in Utrecht (the Netherlands), emeritus professor in Botany at
the University of Bergen (Norway), and during the last 10 years he was
guest researcher at the National Herbarium of the Netherlands. He was
the specialist on Moraceae of all tropical regions, which resulted in
many contributions to Flora projects in Africa and the Neotropics, and
more recently, sponsored by the Foundation Flora Malesiana, in 2
voluminous installments of Flora Malesiana.

On behalf of the Foundation Flora Malesiana and the Nationaal Herbarium
of the Netherlands,
