[Taxacom] Botanists agree to loosen Latin's grip

It is good to see the press pay attention to this issue.
This article is also interesting in that it suggests that
all those errors in the press may not be due to sloppy
journalism, but instead to sloppy interviewees. Still,
it is disconcerting to see this account of what happened
at Melbourne confirm the impression that many
participants of Nomenclature Sections are very weak
on procedure. And why someone wants to go into detail
(saying "The rule had been on the books since 1908")
but then does not bother to have the details correct
(the rule, in as far as there is a single rule, has been in
the Code since 1906, and argually has been in effect
since 1905, when it was adopted) no doubt is a
phenomenon that a psychologist may have something
interesting to say about.
