[Taxacom] most common species names

Hi there,

this sounds interesting. I wonder how would you consider variations due 
to the gender (e.g. cristatus-cristata). Same name?

vulgaris: 2166
vulgare: 382

edulis: 474 (that means edible, I expected more...)
edule: 98

lineata: 1181
lineatus: 935

spinosa: 1619
spinosum: 258

americanus: 760
americana: 1603

...and it seems that spelling is important:

europaea: 231
europea: 39
europaeus: 147
europeus: 13
europaeum: 55
europeum: 3

However, this exercise shows some curiosities:

communis: 1610 (Obviously, a common name)
speciosa: 1398 (sound funny to give this name, that basically means 
'with many species' to a single species)
dubium: 366 (not many species with this name, seems like taxonomists are 
quite sure about their determinations ;) )

I am divagating. I should probably go back to work...
