it's Latin or English ... not Latin and/or English ... there was never
an 'and/or' ... the full reports and the new wording are in the official
reports in Taxon and about 15 other journals including MycoKeys. The
'Code' is now the NC (International Code for the Nomenclature of algae,
fungi and plants) - not the ICBN.

In haste,

Paul

Hello!

I am preparing a lecture for my botany class and I have a quick question
based on a discussion that recently came through this list.

As I recall, the ICBN recently passed a new rule that allows botanical
species descriptions to be in English instead of Latin; is that correct?

I apologize-I have been unable to find the email thread to verify this
on my own.

Best regards, Brian
