Thank you. It is just that we were caught somewhat by surprise.
I am noting
* that the old website (http://tl2.idcpublishers.info/) is no longer
redirecting to Brill, but is now showing a referral message, which
is indeed much better!
* that TL-2 is indeed available at BHL
- http://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/item/103414
- http://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/item/103858 (Suppl.)
* that the Smithsonian site promises extra search options
(including an "advanced search" window) over and above
what is now possible at BHL, and perhaps over what was
possible at the old, IDC, site (I have not tried this).
Paul
PS: perhaps the IDC referral message could also mention the
Smithsonian site?

L.S.,
Per request of the IAPT to Brill, the Taxonomic Literature Online database is no longer available through Brill's IDC platform. Instead, the contents is integrated in the Biodiversity Heritage Library, which is freely accessible online elsewhere.
For inquiries, please contact the IAPT Secretariat:

Thank you. Although I did remember the announcement that the
IAPT would not renew its contract with IDC, I was caught off
guard when, a few days ago, it proved that the familiar site had
gone off-line, without any explanation (some of the subpages
are still there, like http://tl2.idcpublishers.info/main.php).
So I was glad enough to have a renewed search turn up the
announcement at the Smithsonian and it seemed worthwhile to
draw attention to it. Presumably somebody from the
Smithsonian would have posted here, sometime in the New Year,
but why wait a week?
