Hi Jon
I'm please to hear you have a place on the MSc.
If you had wanted to study abroad funding is easily available through
various competitions. However, as you wish to stay in the U.K. my answer
is "forget it" and get yourself a Career Development Loan.
As you are well aware I have been looking for Ph.D funding for over 2.5
years now and from my research on this funding problem. It now appears
that not only do major research funding bodies discriminate against people
with mental health issues, but when the governments of the world ratified
the CBD in 1992 funds only go to students from developing nations.
The tying of researching funding by the CBD is not just affecting the U.K>
but all EU countries and probably other developed nations as well. Its
bad news for the future especially in taxonomy where there is already a
paucity of experts thus restricting the future of taxonomy further.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Good luck!

Can anyone point me in the direction of possible funding bodies which may be
able to assist me through the MSc in Botanical Conservation that I am
starting in September of this year ?
The program is run at The University of Plymouth (UK) and there are no
'in-house' funding possibilities.
Unfortunately I am not a Mason or young-offender so do not qualify for most
postgraduate grants.
Further information on request and thanks in advance, Jon
