Forgive the cross-postings.

Dear Coleopterists, Ecologists, Naturalists, etc.

The Beetle Fauna of Rhode Island: An Annotated Checklist - Volume 3
of the Biota of Rhode Island (2004).

vi + 296 pages, softbound, published by the Rhode Island Natural
History Survey

http://www.uri.edu/ce/rinhs/newbooks.htm

This volume includes records of 2,209 beetle species recorded from
the state of Rhode Island (1,045 square miles) based on records
spanning the last 150 years. Included are summaries of species of
potential conservation concern (37 spp.), species that are known only
from Rhode Island - all named by Thomas Casey (62 spp), species that
are non-native to North America (192 spp), and a comparison of survey
efforts from 1904 with those of approximately a century later. Each
entry is annotated with determiner (& many thanks to those
coleopterists who helped!), voucher sources - either museum or
publication or both, notes on ecology, and host or prey species. The
intended audience are any who work with insect biodiversity in
northeast North America and coleopterists in general.

Happy Holidays!
