estimation of unknown number of species

According to Dr. Noyes in London, the total world-wide number of recognzied species of Eulophidae is 4,472.  See the following link:

P.S.  As for estimated numbers of species that actually exist, a conservative estimate might be about 4-6 times that number (18,000-25,000).  More liberal estimates might go much higher.
