[Heike Vibrans]

Well, Salvia leninae Epling was named for George B.
Hintons riding mule, Lenina. Hinton was a prolific plant
collector and explored bandit-infested south Mexican
mountains in the first half of the 20th century. He
thought that this noble animal had done more for botany
than many human botanists, and was probably right.

Cheers,
Heike
