Castilleja from Costa Rica

Dear Borge & group,

The Castilleja species pictured in Borge's fine exposure appears to
be C. talamancensis, and the species is well known in this area, as
represented by herbarium collections and the observations of others.
The mostly reddish calyx with a yellow apical band is a "field mark"
of this species.

As long as the talk has been on "payment for ID services, I'd like to
say that I'll be glad to ID if possible any and all scans or digital
pics of Castilleja species that people might want to submit, either
by e-mail or on CD disk, etc. I am particularly interested in seeing
good photos of Castillejas from northern Eurasia, Mexico, the rest of
Mesoamerica, and Andean South America. Though I've travelled fairly
widely in Mexico and Ecuador, I have yet to photograph a number of
Mexican species. And, Borge, if you have any photos of Castillejas in
arctic Eurasia, please send them my way!

Thanks¡

Mark
