New books and features at the Missouri Botanical Garden Library's Rare Book site

[Jim Solomon]

Three new books have been digitized and added to the Missouri Botanical
Garden's Rare Book site at http://ridgwaydb.mobot.org/mobot/rarebooks/:

-"Fragmenta botanica, figuris coloratis illustrata : ab anno 1800 ad annum
1809 per sex fasciculos edita / opera et sumptibus Nicolai Josephi Jacquin."
by Nikolaus Joseph Freiherr von Jacquin

-"Le jardin du Roy tres chrestien, Loys XIII, Roy de France et de Navare" by
Pierre Vallet

-"Revisio generum plantarum vascularium omnium atque cellularium multarum
secundum leges nomenclaturae internationales cum enumeratione plantarum
exoticarum in itinere mundi collectarum ... / mit erläuterungen von Dr. Otto
Kuntze." by Otto Kuntze

In addition to these works, Nicolaas Meerburgh's popular book "Afbeeldingen
van zeldzaame gewassen", published in 1775, has been redigitized. The image
quality is much improved, so you should spend some time viewing the book's
beautiful plant and butterfly illustrations.

You will also find new author biographies, including Otto Kuntze and
Benjamin Delessert, and a new list of materials we anticipate scanning over
the next two years. Take a few minutes from your day to visit this
ever-growing site!
