old handwriting on herbarium labels

[Petra DE BLOCK]

A collegue asked me to post this message on TAXACOM

When deciphering once again with many problems herbarium labels in
German gothic handwriting I discovered that The Genealogical Society of
Finland has a nice Guide to gothic handwriting styles on the Internet:
http://www.genealogia.fi/faq/faq031e.htm
The Danish State Archives also give an overview of old alphabets and
handwriting styles:
http://www.sa.dk/lak/brugearkivet/famhist/alphabet/default.htm
These sites are invaluable for taxonomists!
