Botanical nomenclatural query

WOW, I did not realize (although I should have...) what a firestorm I was
igniting by my query!  I guess nomenclature is like politics and religion...

Well, I got the answer to my question (which is, the name is valid).  It
seems that most consider it messy and not the best, but it can be done,
according to the ICBN...

So, I guess we can stop this line of discussion now!
