Myriostoma coliforme

Dear all,

Can anyone give me more information on the worldwide rarity of the
basidiomycete Myriostoma coliforme? I recently encountered it in Spain.
Afterwards, to my surprise, I found out that the National Botanic
Gardens in Belgium have only two specimens of it, one from New Mexico
and one from Holland. I know the fungus is considered extinct in
Switzerland and has been rediscovered in Great Britain. I have a
stereopair of photographs of one fruiting body which I can send to
anyone interested.
I also make use of this occasion to extend my sympaties and condolences
to all American collegues, concerning the tragic, incomprehensible
events which took place last Tuesday.

Best regards,

Jan Bosselaers
