Epiphyte - first use

According to

Wagenitz, G. (1996): W?rterbuch der Botanik - Die Termini in ihrem
historischen Zusammenhang. - Gustav Fischer (Jena, Stuttgart, L?beck, Ulm).

the expression "epiphyte" was already used in

Mirbel, CFB de (1815): ?lements de physiologie v?g?tale et de botanique. -
Paris.

on page 586, when the expression "plantes ?piphytes" is used in its present
definition. Wagenitz (1996) also writes that the expression was first used
for fungi growing on plants even before Mirbels work.
