Kansas DOESN'T Dump Darwin

>From the land of Oz where creationists are considered by most to be the
cranks and crackpots they are it is difficult to understand how these fools
have influence.

A couple of ideas which may or may not be of use in countering the
supporters of a new dark age.

I like to point out that creationists are fundamentally (pun intended)
opposed to Christian teaching. The whole point of Jesus' visit was to
correct some errors in the OT. Jehovah is a vengeful God, and Jesus spent
much time in correcting this error in the writing of the old testament. He
said that God was like the loving father who continually forgave. I no
longer consider myself a Christian, but was educated as one, and tend to
follow Christian ethics. I find the intrusion of ill-informed superstition
into science difficult to forgive, at least continually. It is a difficult
task, but if an attack on their beliefs can make these fools begin to think
then I think it was worth the try.

The second point - and a very minor one, but the idea that we descended (or
ascended) from apes I find difficult. We are apes, and African ones at that.

Sorry to continue this thread.

I shall now slink back under my rock.
