Very briefly in response to Bill Shear's comment in response to mine which
splendidly began "This is just the kind of solipsistic crap that gives
philosophy a deservedly bad name amongst scientists", I guess our exchange
has at least confirmed my contention in my piece that "the essence of an
individual's 'perception' of 'reality' ... is, indeed, 'individual'" !

However, as Bill has said subsequently, we are all in danger of straying
too far from the subject of this List if we pursue the argument here: so
that had better be it.  Sorry to everyone else for introducing this
midsummer madness ...
