Rosewood from Madagascar

Dear Taxacomer,
I received a wood specimen  recently. It is either
a Dalbergia or Pterocarpus species from Madagascar. The timber is dark red
in colour and named "rosewood". I'll be very grateful if you can tell my the
species name or at least a list of possible candidates.
