Index Londoneriensis

Index Londinensis was produced by the Royal Horticultural Society, as
I remember. The first series of volumes was published in the 1920's
or 1930's, I believe, and was an enumeration by species (arranged
alphabetically by genus) of published illustrations of the plant
species involved. A supplementary series of several volumes was
published a bit later.

The only connection with Index Kewensis is that when Index Londinensis
was discontinued - perhaps formally stated in the 1950's - Index
Kewensis started to indicate (with an asterisk, as I remember) new
species whose protologues included an illustration.

I seem to remember that an attempt to produce a later index of
illustrations was made, but I may be confusing this with Index
Holmensis, an index of distribution maps of species of plants

As is evident, I am writing this from memory (at home on a Sunday
morning), without the benefit of reference works, like TL-2, or
taxonomy texts, like Lawrence, Davis & Heywood, or Radford et al., all
of which will give more precise information.

While reading discussions on Index Kewensis CD-ROM,
I rememberd I saw Index Londoneriensis in a
university library 20 years ago :-)
What is that? and how related these indices.

Thanks in advance.
