G. L. Stebbins Birthday

[John La Duke]

Colleagues,

The latest issue of American Journal of Botany (84, 1997) has an article
summarizing some of the accomplishments of G. Ledyard Stebbins. His
influence has been far reaching in all aspects of biology. The last line
of the article notes he was 91 on January 6, 1997. That means he will be
92 tomorrow(in my time zone). I plan to send him a card. If any of you
would, his address is: G. L. Stebbins, 341 West 8th St, Davis, California
95616 USA.
