plant histology question

Can someone on the list recommend:
(1) good current general reference(s) on plant histology
(2) specific reagents or techniques for visualizing stomata ?
I and one of my students are beginning a project on water conservation
mechanisms in broad-leaved succulent plants, and will need to use such
techniques.  Thanks for any information.
