phylogeny

Hi, everyone

Can anyone out there perhaps comment on the pros and cons of using
different "taxonomic" characters in determining the phylogeny of a
group.

Characters eg. external morphological features (eye structure,
legs etc.) versus internal characters eg. morphology of nerves,
internal reproductive organs or alimentary canal.
