Further information on SOMY GPS systems

More on GPS systems:

I have been in touch with SONY concerning their PYXIS (IPS360)
global positioning system. It is a two channel system, and their
list price is $1,195.00. Tiger Software, 800 Douglas Entrance,
Executive Tower, 7th Floor, Coral Gables, Florida 33134,
1-800-888-4437, is selling it for $799.95.

In the next few months, SONY will be introducing a new model,
the IPS760.  It will list for approximately $1,500.00;
hopefully the street price will be considerably less, like
the
 PYXIS. The IPS760 will have a number of new, more
powerful features, including the following:
    - 8 channels
    - 2 removable ICC cards with space for storing approximately
      500 positions
    - sufficient memory to store 1,000 positions with 58 character
      names
    - ability to download to PCs
